Linkoping Airport Guide

Linkoping Airport is better known as Linkoping City Airport and serves the city of Linkoping in southern Sweden. There are very few flights to and from the airport which is part owned by Saab. To get to Linkoping you’d need to fly from Amsterdam with KLM or Copenhagen with Nextjet. Connections from the UK are available to both airports.

Linkoping is one of the oldest cities in Sweden and was founded to take advantage of the fertile soil of the region. There are a number of sights which are worth visiting including Linkoping Cathedral, one of the first Christian churches in Sweden, built in the 12th century and extended over the ensuing centuries.
Linkoping Castle, another interesting visit, was where the bishop of Linkoping lived until the reformation of the 16th century.

Gamla Linkoping is an open air museum built outside Linkoping using many of the original buildings from the city centre which were taken down and moved piece by piece to the new site. Today it represents life in Linkoping in the 18th century and many people work in the traditional manner there.
