Andenes Airport Guide

Andenes Airport is a very small regional airport serving five routes; to Bodo, Harstad/Narvik, Stokmarknes, Tromso and Oslo. International travellers will be relieved that many European flights are available to Oslo’s Gardermoen Airport and there are several budget airlines operating there too so getting to Andenes should be quick and cheap!

The airport is adjacent to the town and occupies almost all of the northern tip of Andoya Island. Whilst car hire may not be needed to get into the town, you’ll certainly need one to see all the island has to offer. The main attraction of Andenes is the old church which is on the site of the original building from when Christianity first came to Andoya. It’s also got a pretty fishing harbour with lots of colourful boats; perfect for your holiday photos.

It’s outside the town that Andenes main attractions are found with stunning mountain scenery, perfect for walking and hiking, magnificent views and isolated sandy beaches which are sublime in the warm summer sun.
