Raleigh-Durham International Airport is 14km north west of the town of Morrisville midway between the cities of Raleigh and Durham in North Carolina, United States.  The airport has two terminals and free shuttle buses run between the two terminals and the Park and Ride car parks.  The airport can easily be accessed from I-40 and Hwy-7.

The airport has a choice of hourly, daily parking garages and two Park and Ride car parks.  Courtesy buses provide transport to the terminals.  Two more Park and Ride lots are used for overflow parking.

Triangle Transit Authority provides a connection with all TTA Regional bus routes to the airport.  TTA Regional buses are met by the airport shuttle bus at the TTA Bus Center in Research Triangle Park.  Numerous shuttle services are available to various destinations in the area.

Facilities a the airport include a Bureau de Change, ATMs, telephones, Wi-Fi internet access, an interfaith chapel, an express spa, shoe shine and infant changing facilities.  Full access facilities are also available for disabled passengers.   Fax, photocopying and internet access are available in the RDU Business Centers in both terminals.  The airport has over 57 retail shops, restaurant and pubs.
No hotels are actually situated in the airport but hotels close to the airport include Hyatt Place, Days Inn, Comfort Suites, Courtyard by Marriott, Embassy Suites and the Sheraton Imperial.

Durham is located halfway between the Great Smoky Mountains and the beaches of the Atlantic and hosts more than 40 annual festivals including jazz festivals, blues festivals, symphony concerts and art exhibitions. The Carolina Theater has both live performances and films.  There are many restaurants in the downtown area and several new restaurants have opened in the American Tobacco District
Raleigh is the capital of the state of North Carolina and the city will have great appeal for historians.

Popular tourist attractions in Raleigh include the Historic Oak View County Park, the Mordecai Historic Park/President Andrew Johnson’s birthplace, and the North Carolina Museum of Natural Science.
