Kristianstad Everod Airport Guide

Kristianstad Airport currently has no commercial passenger flights following the bankruptcy of its last remaining carrier, Skyways, this summer. The airport is in negotiations with several airlines to reintroduce commercial flights but for now the only flights are general aviation and private business flights. This means that should you wish to get to Kristianstad Airport you’ll have to charter your own plane! Once you’re there, the city is only a couple of miles away and reachable in less than fifteen minutes.

Kristiansand has several unusual attractions for the visitor. One of the most interesting is a tour around the Absolut vodka distillery where, as well as seeing how vodka is made, you’ll get a potted history of the development of vodka including why vodka is Swedish and not Russian!

The  city is potentially prone to flooding but the development of the ‘Wetlands’ outside the city has helped protect it whilst also providing an excellent location for birdwatchers to spot waders, ducks and geese at various times throughout the year. In the city, you’ll find a wealth of old architecture from the post renaissance era giving the city a majestic feel.
