Rome Airport (full name Rome Leonardo da Vinci (Fjumicino) is situated approx 26km southwest of Rome in Italy. The airport has three terminals.
The GRA ring road, which goes around Rome, leads to the A12 highway direct to Fjumicino. From this point the airport is well signposted.
Multi-storey car parks A-D are directly linked to the terminals via pedestrian walkways. The Long-term car park which is located on the motorway from Rome to Fjumicino is served by a shuttle bus to and from the terminals. Covered long-term parking is also available. Limited short-stay spaces are also available at Terminals A and B.
Cheap car hire and taxis are readily available at the airport. A Leonardo Express train service operates every half hour to Rome’s Termini Station. The journey takes about 35 minutes. Metropolitan Trains FM1 stop at local stations on the way to Tiburtina. There are also services to Fara Sabina, Poggio Mirteto and Orte. Facilities at Rome airport include banks, Bureau de Change, ATMs, post offices and internet access. The Atahotel Executive Centre, which is located near to domestic Gate A7, has full facilities for the business traveller. Good facilities are also provided for disabled travellers.
Eating facilities are provided by several bars and restaurants. The range of shops situated in the airport include jewellery, fashion, perfumes and traditional Italian products. Duty free shopping is available in the departures lounge.
The Hilton Airport is the only hotel on site. The hotel is linked to the terminals and the airport train station by a covered overpass.
Several other hotels are to be found nearby and some offer a free shuttle bus service to the airport.
