Syros is a Cycladic island located in the heart of the Aegean sea and its capital, Ermoupolis, is also the capital of all of the Cyclades.  Ermoupolis is considered to be one of the most beautiful towns of Greece.  This Greek island has an unspoiled landscape and attractive small traditional villages.  The villages are a mixture of the Venetian and the Cycladic architectural style. The south of the island has some of the most fashionable beaches, some of which are sandy and others pebbled.  Nude sunbathing is possible on some of the beaches.

The holiday resort of Faros Village is only a few minutes from Ermoupolis.  Popular visitor attractions include the Town Hall, Archaelogical Museum of Syros, the Industrial Museum of Ermoupolis and The Municipal Theater “Apollo”. Entertainment on the island is provided by an outdoor cinema, theatre, casino, discos and a number of bars. Syros is famous for Loukoumia (gummy squares flavored with roses) and Halvadopitta (nougat-like).  A good selection of accommodation is available in the island.
A good bus service operates around the island and taxis are available although to make the most of your stay we recommend booking Car Rental Syros.

The island is close to Piraeus and  the ferry trip takes approx. 4 hours.  Syros is also connected by ferry with Rafina, Tinos, Mykonos, Paros, Naxos, Santorini, Sikinos, Folegandros, Amorgos, Astypalaia, Ikaria and Samos.
