With many companies you’ll not be certain of getting the car you booked and sometimes even less sure of the quality of the vehicle you can expect to get. Rodez Airport Guide

Thanks to the arrival of Ryanair at Rodez-Marcillac Airport, the airport is rapidly expanding. With flights from across France, Portugal and Ireland as well as a Ryanair flight from Stansted, getting to Rodez is very easy and often cheap.

First developed as a city in the fifth century, Rodez has a fabulous old heart with many medieval buildings. The most interesting of them is the Cathedrale de Notre Dame de Rodez which has an interesting western wall with no openings as it was part of the defensive wall of the city. Elsewhere the city and the surrounding villages host several music festivals throughout the year, attracting thousands of festival goers.

Rodez is also known for its culinary delights which include aligot, a cheesy garlic mash, and tripoux, a rather stomach turning meal of sheep’s stomach stuffed with lamb’s sweetbreads. Both of these are probably a lot more palatable washed down with the hearty red wine produced by the nearby village of Marcillac
