Car Hire San Rafael Airport

What’s the best way to get around Argentina’s most recognised wine region of Mendoza? The simple answer is by using a hire car from Any Airport Car Hire. You certainly don’t want to be tied to the time allowed by the excursion operators or be limited as to how much wine you can bring on the bus. You’ll also save a packet on the car hire compared to the cost of an organised tour of the vineyards. You can use these savings to either buy more wine or to upgrade your car hire experience perhaps to a convertible or even a 4 x 4. Whichever vehicle you choose from our extensive range you’ll know that it is in tiptop condition and has been well looked after by the San Rafael Airport car hire team.

San Rafael Airport Guide

San Rafael is a satellite of the Argentinian city of Mendoza and is served by San Rafael Airport, located four miles from the city centre. There’s only one route into San Rafael Airport and that’s from Buenos Aires’ domestic airport so if you’re travelling from the UK it’ll require a flight from BA into the main Buenos Aires Airport and a trip across town to get to the domestic airport.

From the airport to the city centre is an easy and quick journey if you’ve booked a San Rafael hire car. Once you’ve collected it, the beautiful countryside of the valleys around Mendoza is yours to explore.

In the city, the Parque San Martin is a popular place to visit. Not your usual small park, it has mountain bike trails, a lakeside walk, wild birds and caged ones plus many other examples of Argentinian wildlife. There are many other attractive parks too and one of them is adjoined by the Casa de Fader, a house from the 1890s that was occupied by the famous Argentinian painter Fernando Fader.

Mendoza is also famous for its many festivals celebrated throughout the year. With grapes being so important to the local economy it’s no surprise that the grape harvest is the most popular!
